The Second Sunday of Advent

The Second Sunday of Advent

"The word of God has a charm and attractiveness that can be found nowhere else”

Pierre Bienvenu Noailles (Introduction of the General Rules, 1851 – Spiritual Guide No: 105)

Take the time during Advent to taste the Word of God…
There is no need for words; explanations…just allow yourself to be touched…
Allow the Word to give birth to hope within you…

Listen attentively!
A voice crying in the wilderness: here is the Lord!
         Turn back towards the source…

(tropaire)

Jerusalem, take off your robe of mourning and misery
Put on the splendour of glory from God forever
Stand upon the heights
Look to the East

God remembers his people!

(Baruch 5,1-9)

I am confident of this - that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

(Phil 1,4-6)

What path are you going to prepare for the Lord?
Will it be a material path?  Does the Word of God take us along such a path? Or must we look deep within our hearts and prepare an interior path that is straight, true and unifying?
This is the path taken by the Word of God who enters the human heart that is open and ready to welcome our God.
