Monsignor Maziers Prayer

Father, you are a God who loves by giving yourself totally, teach us to love and to give of ourselves.

Father, you are a God who eternally speaks the name of the one who is your well-beloved Son, teach us to speak the word of love that gives life to others and gives them the possibility of love.

Father, you are a God who goes beyond yourself in looking towards the well-beloved Son, teach us to forget ourselves and enable us to find our joy in the gaze of others.

Father, you are a God who loves, whose love is manifested in the power of forgiveness, teach us to forgive; teach us not to measure our love by the way it is received or by the limits it meets.

Father whose infinite joy is to love gratuitously, unconditionally, without measure, without limits, may this source of true joy spring up in us: the joy of loving.

Father, you revealed yourself to us through your son Jesus, may we welcome your face in his word and in his life given to us under the sign of bread shared and wine poured out.

Father you brought forth your Son in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of love, give us the Spirit who will teach us to say ‘Father’ and to live as your sons and daughters, in the image of your well-beloved Son.

Father, source of love, come into our hearts, fill them with the strength and delicacy of your love – for you, for our sisters and brothers whom you place on our path.

Father, may you be blessed, now and forever.
