Lent 2010

 LENT 2010

  Fifth week of Lent

A song to life

“Remember not the former things,

nor consider the things of old.

Behold, I am doing a new thing;

now it springs forth,

do you not perceive it?

I will make a way in the wilderness

and rivers in the desert.

The wild beasts will honour me,

for I give water in the wilderness,

rivers in the desert,

to give drink to my chosen people,

the people  whom I formed for myself

that they might declare my praise.

Is. 43:18-21

“The glory of God is the universe fully alive. A song to life, to creation, to communion; to welcoming diversity, inclusivity, and the inter-relatedness of everything that exists, thus achieving a harmony that we can imagine only in God.”

(Vowed for mission, 3.1)

“I am now giving you the choice between life and death… Choose Life!” (Deut 30:19)

Fourth week of Lent

Healing is important to everybody

They came, bringing to Jesus a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him; and when they had made an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said “My son, your sins are forgiven.” (Mk. 2,3-5)

The faith of the four friends and of the paralytic himself, and the solidarity between them obtained his healing.

Believe in the incredible power

Of the human mind

Of doing something that makes a difference

Of working hard

Of laughing and hoping

Of lasting friends

Of all the things that will cross your path…

“You may call God love, you may call God goodness; but the best name for God is Compassion.” Meister Eckhart.

  Third week of Lent

We do aware of you: birds, animals and all exotic species…

Life is a miracle! It has so many different forms.

Animals are God’s creatures too and God gave responsible to human to take care of them. If you just bring pictures of amazing creatures and you do smile. They show this planet with you and they definitely make your life brighter!

Attentive to the calls of times, we are ready to respond to new needs, to search for the causes of evil and to collaborate with others to change the situations which produce them. We hear the cry of all those who are abandoned, and the option for he poor is at the heart of our apostolic choices. (Const. art. 120)

“The purity of a person’s heart can be quickly measured by how they regard animals.

  Second week of Lent

 Pardon from our Mother Earth

God, who has created me,

you are creator of this earth;

this I do believe.

You made for me this gentle land

whose softness surrounds my soul

to nourish and sustain my life…

this I do believe...

Lord, you ever care for us, protect us, feed and sustain us. You have given us the earth to share with each other. We are the cause of the disaster of global warming, we have failed to protect our planet.  We ask pardon of our Mother Earth…

‘Make us one in you, God of all the Earth’

 First week of Lent

The Pardon of our brothers and sisters

You will ask, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, thirsty, naked or a stranger, sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ ‘Truly, I say to you: whatever you did not do for one of these little ones, you did not do for me.’ Mt. 25; 45, 46

We condemn the violence of our modern world; we lament the heartlessness of our competitive society; we decry the rigour of professional practices. But what do we do when it is our turn to be gentle and forgiving, to have regard for the weak and the poor among ourselves, to yield graciously what we consider to be our right? Let us ask pardon of each other.

We have to find time to be alone with God, in order to enjoy God’s presence.

    Ash Wednesday

Let us turn to the Lord and pray

We are in the Holy Season of Lent. Lent is a preparation of our “hearts of stone” to be transformed into “hearts of flesh” through prayer and penitence. It is a time for reflection for our personal and global family; a time to renew our hearts with the hope of salvation; a time when the chains of our blockages can be broken, our sickness healed, and new life injected into our souls "that we may be found pure and blameless at the resurrection of the Lord Jesus".

The Spirit of Jesus teaches us to pray and to recognise the presence of God in every human situation of our ordinary everyday life.( Constitutions art. 29)
