Humanitarian Project

Humanitarian Project to mark the Bicentenary of our foundation

Place: Jeyapuram and Mallavi in the north of Sre project was proposed by the members of different Holy Family vocations in Jaffna. It has been selected and now it is our project and we do it together as Family of Pierre Bienvenu Noailles. Every member in our Big Family is invited to participate in it through prayer and financial support. Like the widow in the Gospel, each one of us contribute the maximum we can, no matter how small it may be. We can save through sacrifices, creatively earn a little bit extra for this cause, or put aside a part of our income. If the whole family skip a meal what would be the outcome? Can we fix a date and do it together so that we can act in real solidarity. Let us be confident. Together, we can do it. Creativity and generosity need to be at the heart of all our efforts. Let this be an opportunity to feel together that we are Family on Mission.

Youth for Change

It is implemented in the North of Sri Lanka, in the Vanni area where the final terrible battle of 30 year old civil war took place. During the war the world heard about it. Now the war as such is over and the media is silent. Perhaps it does not have the words to express the pain of the victims of that war. However the traumatised, widowed, orphaned, handicapped, unemployed, abandoned; they all are still there.

As we prepare and look forward to celebrate the Bicentenary, our attention goes to them. Let us look at the details of the project.

Objective: Enabling war affected youth to discover their potential to build peace and reconciliation within themselves and in the community.

Location: Two villages of JeyaPuram and Mallavi in the Vanni area in the North of Sri Lanka. The Holy Family has not yet established its presence in these villages. It is an effort to reach out to the periphery, to be in a state of exodus.

Participants: 150 youth; men and women affected in various ways by war.

The project serves two purposes. While reaching out to the vulnerable strata in society it helps us to build deep communion in our Big Family of Pierre Bienvenu Noailles.

In the year 2017, let us enthusiastically work for the   24230 Euros needed for this project.

Let us support those directly involved through our prayer, comments and interactions. Let us use the blog for this purpose.
